The WSIS (World Summit on the Information Society) Forum 2025 is a major United Nations (UN) event co-organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNDP, and other UN agencies, focusing on digital cooperation and ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) for development. DDN will be attending the event which will take place at Geneva, Switzerland from the 7th-11th of July 2025.
The purpose of the event is to review progress on global digital goals since the original WSIS (2003/2005) and align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This year, the theme will likely to emphasize “ICTs for Inclusive Development” (exact 2025 theme TBD; past themes include innovation for equity and resilience).

- Cybersecurity & governance
- Emerging tech (AI, 5G, IoT) for social good
- Policy frameworks for equitable access
WSIS 2025 will shape global discussions on tech-driven development, addressing gaps in connectivity, ethics, and innovation.
