Samar ElHusseiny

Samar is a distinguished human rights professional with a formidable background in advocacy, international law, and movement building. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Egyptian Human Rights Forum and was previously the MENA Research and Engagement Coordinator at the Centre for the Study of Journalism (CIWJ). Her expertise spans strategic planning, informal education, campaigning, and building powerful civil society movements.

Elhussieny holds a Master’s degree in International Law and Human Rights from the University of Tartu, which has equipped her with a deep understanding of global human rights issues and the frameworks necessary to address them. Her experience in journalism, election observation, and NGO management further enriches her ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver impactful results.
