Overview of the Sixty-Ninth Session of the Commission on the Status of Women

Digital Democracy Now participated in the sixty-ninth session of the Commission on the Status of Women was was scheduled to occur in New York from 10 to 21 March 2025. Ten delegates from DDN attended, among them participants from Bhutan, Iran and Afghanistan. We also were joined by Global Citizens Circle.

  • Attendance was open to representatives from Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited NGOs globally.
  • The session focued on reviewing the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, addressing challenges to achieve gender equality and women’s empowerment, and its role in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
  • This session aimed to assess progress and challenges related to gender equality and women’s rights.
